Snap! Orlando presents T I M E L E S S // GOTTA GO, GOTTA FLOW // LIFE-AS-IS
T I M E L E S S features the photographic works of B+ and Eric Coleman. Brian “B+” Cross is one of today’s the most prominent music photographers. He has photographed many album covers for artists such as Jurassic 5, Rza, Madlib, Mos Def, and Q-Tip. His 1993 book It’s Not About a Salary: Rap Race and Resistance was one of the first to document the burgeoning West Coast hip hop scene. L.A. artist Eric Coleman has grown to be an innovator with a unique style of photography. He has photographed actors and artists such Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Terrence Howard, DJ Shadow, and MF Doom.
GOTTA GO, GOTTA FLOW features the work of Michael L. Abramson [1948-2011], best known for his striking black and white photographs documenting the vibrant nightlife of Chicago’s South side during the mid-1970s. Abramson’s photographs can be found in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Milwaukee Art Museum, and the California Museum of Photography.
LIFE-AS-IS features the work of Lauren Withrow. Born and raised in a small farming town in Texas, Withrow began photographing at the age of 15. Now based out of LA, she focuses her work on documenting stories, places, and creating cinematic worlds that dive into personal feelings of growing up queer, expectations of womanhood, and the relationships we have with others.
