We're pleased to offer the portfolio reviews virtually this semester!
Snap! Orlando's 2024 portfolio review sessions for art professionals, amateurs, and students, took place on SUNDAY MAY 26, 1:00 AM - 4:50 PM virtually.

A B O U T :
A select group of art professionals will offer their wide range of experience and expertise to help with your portfolio development. In addition to offering an in-depth critique of your artworks, the reviewers welcome any questions you may have regarding professional practices, marketing, or the next steps to take in your career development.
All mediums of artwork are welcome: including fine art, digital art, and photography.
Select your reviewer(s) and book your review time(s). Each reviewer will receive a list with the names, times, and email of the participants. Sessions are 20 minutes per chosen reviewer. You are free to choose as many reviewers as you wish, depending on availability. We encourage you to register for multiple reviewers for a varied, holistic exploration of your portfolio from different perspectives.
Try to join the virtual call 15 minutes before your session(s) to accommodate any technical difficulties.

Dan L. Hess is a multi-disciplinary artist, curator, and educator. Hess’ works have been exhibited around the world, from New York to Shanghai, and can be found in national and international private collections. Hess has over 20 years experience in all aspects of high-end fine art curation, installation and exhibition design, and has won numerous awards and fellowships for his work. From 1995 until 2000, he was lighting and visual coordinator at Christie's NYC, later becoming an adjunct professor at Stony Brook University in New York from 2012 to 2014. Dan L. Hess is currently the chief curator of the Art & History Museums of Maitland.

Formerly a professor of photography and video, and chair of the Southeast Center for Photographic Studies, Steven Benson currently works as a freelance photographer and videographer. His works are featured in numerous collections including the Museum of Fine Art-Houston, Detroit Institute of Arts, Bibliotheque Nationale-France, Centre Georges Pompidou, Museet for Fotokunst-Denmark. Solo exhibitions of his photography include the Centre Georges Pompidou, and in photography festivals, biennials, and triennials in Argentina, South Korea, Germany, Syria, Poland, China, Denmark and FotoFest. His photographs were on exhibition at the Appleton Museum of Art in a show titled “Invented Observations,” a 35-year survey of his B&W work during 2022. The notable curator, Dr. Irina Chmyreva, included a series of his hand-colored images, “Incantations,” in her exhibition for Pingyao Festival of Photography in China, “Spiritual Landscape,” 2023.

Shannon Rae Lindsey is a multimedia artist, associate lecturer, and art gallery director in the School of Visual Arts and Design at the University of Central Florida. Shannon received an MFA in studio art from the University of South Carolina and a BFA in fine arts from the University of South Florida. Lindsey has participated in thirteen solo exhibitions and over thirty-five group exhibitions as an interdisciplinary artist exploring installation, sculpture, and drawing. She was the winner of the 2014 South Carolina 701 CCA Prize. She has been the vice president of finance since 2021 for Foundations in Art: Theory and Education, a non-profit educational association dedicated to excellence in the development and teaching of college-level foundation courses in studio work and art history. She uniquely combines her roles of visual artist, educator, and gallery director to support contemporary professional practices and encourage students to navigate their unique identities and goals both inside and outside the classroom.

Marieke van der Krabben is a photography historian and curator. After receiving a BA in art history and an MA in film and photographic studies from Leiden University in the Netherlands, she worked as a junior curator at the Museum of Photography in The Hague. Additionally, she was the curator and creative director for the International Photo Festival Leiden for three years. Van der Krabben co-authored a book on photography and has written for art-related magazines. In 2017, she moved to Florida and worked as the curator of exhibitions for the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts, before founding a new photography event in Tampa Bay called The Saint Petersburg Month of Photography (SPMOP), which is held every year in May. During this month, SPMOP creates exhibitions, names a photo laureate, and organizes portfolio reviews and other photography-related events to celebrate the art and local photography of the community.

Tina Schelhorn is the founding director and curator of Galerie Lichtblick, Cologne, celebrating its 38th year as a non-profit organization for contemporary photography having presented over 400 exhibitions (together with Wolfgang Zurborn). 1996-2001 Galerie lichtblick downtown’, Cologne.
She organized the festival Internationale Fotoszene Köln (1990-1996), curated and organized the festival Internationale Fototage Herten (1995-2001) with International Prize for Young Photojournalism and in 2005, curated Internationale Fototage Mannheim/ Ludwigshafen with 140 exhibitions, with a special of 84 on Contemporary American Photography. Since 2012 she works with Kolga Tbilisi Photo as curator and organizer of the education program + awards.
Tina has been a portfolio reviewer and has exchanged exhibitions with international festivals. Tina is Juror for Critical Mass, Portland since its beginning, Center/Santa Fe, Backlight Festival and many others. Her websites and exhibition projects Images against War (since 2003) and Images against Walls (since 2009) feature more than 900 international photographers. 2011 she started Lichtblick School (with Wolfgang Zurborn).

Robin O’Dell is the Executive Curator at the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts in Tampa, Florida, where she oversees the collection and is responsible for curating over a dozen exhibitions every year. She is also a contributing writer for The Artisan Magazine, as well as Creative Pinellas’ Arts Coast Magazine. She was formerly the Curator of Photography at the Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg, Florida and has also worked with the Keith Haring Archive in New York City, the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota, the George Eastman Museum in Rochester, NY,

Roberto has 30 years working as a professional photographer for the publishing industry. The diversity of experience across his career has helped him develop a range of creative skills. He has received a number of national, state, and local awards from organizations including the National Press Photographer’s Association, Society for Newspaper Design, Society of Professional Journalists, and from Florida Society of Newspaper Editors. His clients include The New York Times, Washington Post, Associated Press, and Getty Images.
