INSTANT SNAPIFICATION

INSTANT SNAPIFICATIONThis online competition invites everyone around the world to submit a digital photo related to the theme “Urban Wild.” Pictures are to be taken ONLY with a cell phone or smart phone. STUDENT PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST

STUDENT PHOTOGRAPHY CONTESTPhotography students from national schools, universities and colleges are invited to submit original photography for consideration in this juried competition.  The 20 most compelling and visionary images will be exhibited during Snap! and Best in Show selected by a  jury of notable judges, will received a prize package valued at $2,000 courtesy of Colonial Photo & Hobby. Youth Workshop sponsored by United Arts:

“Urban Wild” (AGES 12-18 years)

Central Florida teens will engage in an art workshop (May 07, 2012, 12-4 pm) where they explore creative art journalism as a means for social commentary and personal expression. Using photography and mixed media, each participant will create a unique work of art around the theme: “Urban Wild”.  Images from this Youth Workshop will be displayed at Snap! Orlando 2012.

YOUTH ART EXHIBIT & RECEPTION TO CELEBRATE MOTHER’S DAY

On Sunday, May 13, 2012 a specially catered Youth Art Reception will be held, with special guest TBA. Tickets for this family-friendly event is $5 at the door per adult (youth under 18 are free) and included admission to the Snap! exhibition galleries, reception, plus a complimentary professional  “MOM & I” portrait by Kinzie+Riehm. (Parents of our youth program artists attend free).

Portfolio Reviews

Snap! Orlando’s Portfolio Reviews will be held on Sunday May 6, 2012 at Urban ReThink, 625 E. Central Blvd, Downtown Orlando 32801, from at 9 A.M until 4:30 PM.  This one-day event connect photographers with potential clients, mentors and industry professionals. Photographers (professional and student) engage in one-on-one meetings with industry professionals for a focused review of the photographer’s portfolio of work.  Each review session will last for 20 minutes. 2012 reviewers TBD. 2011 reviewers were:
