Jim Krantz is American photographer who is most noted for his work capturing the American West and some of the most iconic images of the nation. Krantz, who studied under Ansel Adams, has been featured in the New York Times, Wallpaper, Italian Vogue, German GQ and many other international magazines. Krantz was awarded 2010 Lucie Award Winner for International Photographer of the Year and has also been honored by The American Photography Awards, The Art Director’s Club, and Communication Arts. In April 2011, marking the 25th Anniversary of the catastrophic Level 7 nuclear accident at Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in the Ukraine, Krantz traveled to the Ukraine to photograph this stunning and haunting photo essay about the forgotten inhabitants of Chernobyl’s Forbidden Zone.
