Kick Off Event: Outdoor Projection Mapping

Thursday April 19, 2012  Multiple showings from 8:30PM through Midnight. Free Event.

This spectacular event, FREE to the entire community and hosted by Mayor Buddy Dyer, dazzled the city with a larger-than-life projection of Snap! 2012 photo images and dynamic 3-D animation, on the facade of the downtown Kress Building.  The projection ws optimally viewed from The Plaza property across the street from the Kress Building. The surrounding portions of Orange Ave. were closed during each showing to ensure safe viewing. Mayor Dyer introduced at the event at 8:30 PM

HOMEgrown Photographers Exhibition Opening

“Urban Wild Homegrown show” show featuring selected works from local photographers, will be exhibited in the Martin and Gracia Andersen Lakeview Promenade of the Orlando Museum of Art. Opening night will coincide with OMA’s 1st Thursdays event. $10 at the door (cash bar and café).

Student Competition Reception

UCF Center for Emerging Media. 500 W. Livingston, Orlando 32801. MAP IT.
Thursday May 10, 2012 6-8PM. Cost: Free event.

This catered reception honors the best entries from Snap!’s 2012 Central FL Student Photography Competition, which will be exhibited at Gallery 500, inside UCF CEM. The overall Student Photography Contest Winner will receive a prize package worth $1,500, courtesy of Colonial Photo & Hobby.

Snap! will open its doors to the exhibition venue with an artist reception honoring our 2012 headlining talents. This event will feature live artist salon talks with headlining artists, including Miru Kim, Andrew Hetherington,  access to Snap’s 2012 featured exhibits, no-host bar, live entertainment and music. VIP lounge includes catering, sponsored drinks, exclusive Cecil Stone’s 3D projection viewing plus MOBY‘s signed “Destroyed” photography book, including music CD, available for purchase (50 available).

Snap! Fashion Night

Saturday May 12, 2012  7PM-12AM. Cost:$25/$10 for Student with ID. Ticket.

Snap! will add fashionable flair to the second night of exhibition with an extravagant “Urban Wild” fashion show produced by Fused Fashion,  with models by AbFab Model Management, wardrobe by Ema Savahl, hair by Prive Salon, and makeup by KN Makeup Designs. This event includes access to Snap’s 2012 featured exhibits, no-host bar, live entertainment and music. VIP lounge includes catering, sponsored drinks, exclusive Cecil Stone’s 3D projection viewing and signing of OUT Magazine’s Jean Paul Gaultier covers by French photographer Damien Blottiere (first 100).

Mother’s Day and Youth Art reception

Sunday May 13, 12-5PM. Cost: $5 at the door.

This specially catered Mother’s Day event  will showcase the artwork created by youth who participated in our 2012 Youth Photography Program. Tickets for this family-friendly event include  access to Snap’s 2012 featured exhibits, refreshments, plus a complimentary professional “Mom & I” portrait by Kinzie+Riehm. ($5 at the door – 18 and under are free,  parents of youth program artists also attend free).
