Kick Off Event: Outdoor Building Projection

Thursday April 19, 2012  Multiple showings from 8:30PM through 11:30 PM. Cost: Free Event.

This spectacular event, FREE to the entire community and hosted by Mayor Buddy Dyer,  dazzles the city with a larger-than-life projection of Snap! 2012 photo images and dynamic 3-D animation, on the front of the downtown Kress Building.  The projection, created by PaintScaping.com, one of the world leaders in large-scale projection mapping, can be optimally viewed from The Plaza property across the street from the Kress Building. The surrounding portions of Orange Ave. will be closed during each showing to ensure safe viewing. Mayor Dyer to be present at the event at 8:15 PM

HOMEgrown Photographers Exhibition Opening

Thursday May 03, 2012  6-9PM. Cost: $10 at the door.

“Urban Wild Homegrown show” show curated by Patrick Kahn and Heather Comparetto, featuring selected works from local photographers, will be exhibited in the Winifred Johnson Clive Gallery of the Orlando Museum of Art. Opening night will coincide with OMA’s 1st Thursdays event. $10 at the door (cash bar and café).

 

Student Competition Reception

UCF Center for Emerging Media. 500 W. Livingston St, Orlando 32801. MAP IT.
Thursday May 10, 2012 6-8PM. Cost: Free event.

This catered reception honors the best entries from Snap!’s 2012 Central FL Student Photography Competition, which will be exhibited at Gallery 500, inside UCF CEM. The overall Student Photography Contest Winner will receive a prize package worth $2,000, courtesy of Colonial Photo & Hobby.

Opening Night: Headlining Artists Reception

Friday May 11, 2012 7PM-12AM. Cost:$25/$10 for Student with ID.  Ticket.

Snap! will open its doors to the exhibition venue with an artist reception honoring our 2012 headlining talents. This event will feature live artist interviews, access to Snap’s 2012 featured exhibits, no-host bar, live entertainment and music.

 

Snap! Fashion Night

Saturday May 12, 2012  7PM-12AM. Cost:$25/$10 for Student with ID. Ticket.

Snap! will add fashionable flair to our second night of exhibition with feature two fashion shows, curated by Fused Fashion: “Urban Wild” – bold fashion looks inspired by the images of Snap!’s 2012 talents. This event includes access to Snap’s 2012 featured exhibits, no-host bar, live entertainment and music.

 

Mother’s Day and Youth Art reception

Main Venue.  TBD.
Sunday May 13, 12-5PM. Cost: $5 at the door.

This specially catered Mother’s Day event  will showcase the artwork created by youth who participated in our 2012 Youth Photography Program, with special guest  to be announced. Tickets for this family-friendly event include  access to Snap’s 2012 featured exhibits, refreshments, plus a complimentary professional “Mom & I” portrait by Kinzie+Riehm. ($5 at the door under 18 are free – parents of youth program artists will also attend free).
