ELICIA EDIJANTO

Hymn.

Echo.

Glory.

Indonesian artist Elicia Edijanto captures unique connection between animals and children using only black and white watercolors. Small, vulnerable children stand alongside creatures of the wild, elephants, wolves and bears with peace and confidence. Those dreamlike-scenes are tranquil and contemplative. “Nature inspires me. My subjects are often children and animals because they are sincere, unprejudiced and unpretentious. There’s an innate relationship between them. Our children sing songs about animals, they have toy animals, they have books about animals, and they dream about animals.  My hope is that my art will remind us of how human-nature relationship is supposed to be, beautiful and harmonious,” says Elicia.
